How to remove wifi networks windows 8

Whatever you reason or reasons for wanting to do this, if you are reading this post it is because you have realized that this is not the easy straightforward task that you are familiar with from other version of windows.
Keep courage though, doing this is very possible and easy, all you need is a little CLI skills and you are good to go.

Here are the steps to complete the process:

1. Click the start icon and type cmd to open the command line interface.

2. At the command line interface type: netsh wlan show profiles and hit enter. This command shows you all the wife networks that is on the machine and is essential for the next step especially for the purpose of spell checking.

here is the result of typing the previously mentioned command

3. When you have identified the network/networks that you want to remove, type: netsh wlan delete profile name and hit enter. Where "name" is the name of the network that you intend to remove.

OK so I actually made an error in the print screen above (profiles instead of profile) which I will not delete because it is an example of what can happen in the real world. I am doing the steps as I type and I made a mistake, the correction and result of typing the command are in the next image.

And that is it. Hope this tip will help, thank you for stopping by and if you like hit follow.
